Now obviously Hamza Yusuf would "pass" the test, and his comments seem to be critique of the actual test which appears to be prejudicial and stonewalls any opportunity for open dialog. The test assumes that someone is being judged and can 'fail' and be diminished or 'pass' and be tolerated. What an awful way to try to assess anything. It's not even logical. If you want to know who someone is there needs to be some sense of equality between yourself and that person. If you test someone based on a series of questions that are intended on rooting something out, you will only find what you think is already there. If a nun refused this test, she would 'fail' it too. There are far too many differences that will only get solidified using this method. Talk to people. It works.
