Reader comment on item: Canada's Muslims Provide "Strategic Advice on Relations with the Muslim World"

Submitted by Katherine McLean (United States), Apr 17, 2006 at 19:02

C'mon now. Have you ever ever heard such a load of bafflegab? PULEEEZE allow me to elucidate.. "operational work-producing speeches" ?? What the heck is that? Maybe MAKE-WORK speeches? After all it is the bureaucracy. Then there is "managing emerging issues such as the recent Prophet MuhamMAD caricatures issue" ISSUE mind you. Not riot, not insanity not just plain crazyness...this guy sees it as an "issue" to be "managed". And on behalf of Canada too. Next, this guy wants to "take the lead in creating a policy framework for our overall approach to this subject" Wants to be the go to guy for all of CANADA. Wants to be "consulted on a broad range of issues(again with the issues!) affecting Canada's relations with Muslim communities (presumably world wide...I mean why stop at Canada) including mind you "public diplomacy efforts"...OH Yeah...HE is going to be telling our ELECTED politicians what to say. I don't think so.

Note to Mulroney. Who elected you to speak for us? You are biased and monumentally stupid and my next email is to Harper. And do not be taking that threatening tone of voice with the rest of the Canadian bureaucracy. You do know where you can put your "active collaboration" ( Read do it my way or the highway.) There are many Canadians (I hope) who will not feel so threatened that they actually play into this crass attempt to bypass the foreign minister and use the DFAIT to deal their personal ultra liberal agenda.
