Where is Islam in Israeli consciousness?

You will look in vain to find any major Isreali politician: Sharon, Peres, Peretz, Netanyahu, Lapid, Beilin, Olmert, who has ever mentioned Islam - moderate or otherwise as a problem. They all see the problem as a local territorial dispute somehow divorced from the dynamics of the surrounding Arab world and aggressive religion.
