Dear Prof Pipes,

This has a strange parallel in the Indian situation. Pakistanis and Bangladeshis come to India legally and illegally and stay on and later claiming Indian citizenship. Eventhough Muslims, they are proud to call themselves as Indians and not of their country of origin. The only difference between Pakistan and Bangladesh on one hand and the Palestinian Authority on the other is that the former two are full fledged governments since 1947 and 1971 respectively while PA has yet to acquire that status.
