Battle or War?

Reader comment on item: "The Battle against Islamism Has Not Yet Started"

Submitted by Kim Bruce (Canada), Jul 30, 2016 at 15:33

Great interview, Dr. Pipes.

"I see Islamism as having peaked in 2012-13 and showing signs of weakness."

Wahhabism, and Khomeinism to me are the most dangerous ideologies on earth. I believe the only way to stop the growth of Islamism is to reform Islam, and that means all of Islam, Shia and Sunni. It's going to be a monumental task, as the reformists must have cooperation and total involvement amongst a majority of the so-called "moderate" Muslims in the movement.

Islam will not be changed overnight. It will take decades, I believe. Still we must remain hopeful that the reform movement will eventually succeed. In the meantime, many more people will be tortured, enslaved, murdered, terrorized in the name of Allah and his illiterate messenger.
