Islam, not Islamic extremism or Islamism

Reader comment on item: Not Calling Islamism the Enemy

Submitted by Charles Martel (United States), Jun 26, 2015 at 14:54

Of the top 50 news stories on Yahoo today, 38 were either directly or indirectly related to the violence of Islam. Regardless of how left leaning or right leaning the source, I am sure the same ratio would be found on CNN, Fox News and so on. This is a problem, people. "Islam" is a problem. In fact, Islam is "the" problem. Not Islamism. Not Islamic extremism. Just plain old garden variety Islam. This is so because this ...posing as "religion" is riddled with horror and violence and the imperative of striking terror into the hearts of infidels -- that would be us. We fought Germany in WWII over a far less existential threat. Isn't it time we woke up and smelled the Sharia before it's too late?
