Dealing with Political Islam

Reader comment on item: Anti-Islam & Anti-Islamism Trumps Islam in the West: Polls

Submitted by DeadOrInJail (United States), Dec 2, 2013 at 22:28

Islamism is the ideology of Political Islam--that their should be no division between Mosque & State and that all of society should be ruled by Shari'a and follow The Prophet.

Unfortunately, Muslims who argue that a true interpretation of Islam precludes pluralism have a strong case.

This is a great and terrible fact looming over the human race.

Australia is less frightened of the influence of Islam on society for two reasons: they are farther away from the fractious and violent Arab world and, second, their economy is doing better than that of those in continental Europe.

Full stomachs either solve problems (if you're optimistic) or lull you into a false sense of security (if you're cynical).
