Reader comment on item: The Geneva Agreement with Iran: A Foreign Policy Disaster

Submitted by Alex (United States), Nov 24, 2013 at 17:02

I have one question the answer to which I am surprised Dr. Pipes left out of his article: if the signing of this new agreement in Geneva spurs Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu into striking Iran and at least significantly curtailing its nuclear program, would not such a result amount to the "silver lining" that Dr. Pipes recently noted in President Obama's disengagement from American engagement in the world?

Daniel Pipes replies:

I do not consider an Israeli attack on Iran to be a desirable outcome. I would far prefer global pressures on Tehran to force it to undo its nuclear program.
