I agree with Dr. Pipes. I also agree with the US state department's decision to support the current peace process. Whether it is a tactical move or not by Abbas or a real fresh start isn't the issue. The issue is there is a current opportunity here to create a sense of normalcy..which in itself could produce a positive dynamic that may drive ordinary palestinians to want peace with Israel. If a mutual economic dependency can take hold-(between the Israelies and Palestinians) then peace may have a real chance. It is certainly worth pursuing the current path. Ofcourse this must be coupled with current efforts to suppress anti-zionist propaganda..if there is any hope for success.
