Yes, the Philistines from the Agean Islands invaded Canaan before the Jews' returned from Egypt; but not before Jacob [ 'Israel'] left Canaan for Egypt. Jews predate the Philistines in Canaan. The world knows of Philistines and of Abraham and Ishmael only from the Hebrew bible. Such is the evidence of the Hebrew bible's authentic writings.
