Yes, the Romans eventually destroyed Israel, they didn't destroy Palestine. Also, the Arabs that lived there never referred to themselves as "Palestinians". Lastly, not every single Jew left or was taken as a slave by the Romans. There has been a continuous Jewish presence in what is now referred to as Israel as well as what is now often referred to as "Palestine" during those 2000 years. The Arab farmers and shepherds that lived in the area never historically called themselves Palestinians, it doesn't appear in any literature they or anyone wrote either going back 2000 years.
