Lerman, MSIA (United States), Jun 22, 2004 at 10:47 Dear Dr. Pipes,As you pointed out clearly, because of the press coverage I was prepared to excoriate Mr. Chalabi. Now, I'm not so sure.... I understand Dr. Wolfowitz brought Mr. Chalabi to advise the highest level of this administration. So, it would not surprise me in the least that State or CIA 'set up' Mr. Chalabi. If they did and by doing so revealed this important secret, their actions would be execrable for their petty hatreds and jealousies. Far more seriously, in a war of physical and cultural survival would this not be considered treason?
