Daniel, I wouldn't trust the Jihadist; they would stake claim to everything just to show how "powerful" they are and how far their reach is.
I'm not an expert on bush fires in Australia, but based on my limited knowledge of Bay area (US) fires I can say that quite often they start on their own.
Yes, sometimes a careless, but not stupid, person may've played the catalyst role.

We are needlessly giving them media space that they don't deserve; though that's what they crave - publicity.

My problem with the Jihadist is that, if you don't tow in their line, then you under the control of "Shaitan" and so must be killed. If you show them kindness and give in, then it is because you are now under control of Allah. If you were to disagree, yet still help them out, that's because you've been terrorized by Allah to help them out.

Daniel, speaking of "Shaitan", I do hope that you know what it means?
It doesn't mean "Satan", rather it means "an adversary".
