Europe vs USAReader comment on item: America the unpopular Submitted by William F. Miller (United States), Nov 5, 2003 at 17:44 I have lived in Europe for 15 years, in five different countries. There is a low-level element of envy among the Europeans about everything American. They think that, deep down, they are more qualified to lead the world than we are. France, with its terrible record in foreign affairs, is the worst offender. We should not concern ourselves a great deal with Europe and how they feel. They can never become as strong as we, and in fact do not compete in much of anything. Let them moan and complain.Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please. Reasoned disagreement is welcome but not comments that are scurrilous, off-topic, commercial, disparaging religions, or otherwise inappropriate.
