Truth is comprimised by Fear
Reader comment on item: Symposium: Holiday Jihad?

Hello Mark,

If you read Daniel Pipes' article, to which I was responding, the subject was the possible significance, and/or correlation between acts of terror on behalf of Islam and the dates upon which they occur.

The plain truth is that the Qur'an 9:111 verse describes Paradise as guaranteed to those who die killing the un-believer. The West is widely considered in Islam to be filled with "the unbeliever", and 9-11 occured, without argument, on 9-11-01.

That was the point I made. Nowhere did I state Muslims "seek salvation by killing the infidel", as you claim. That is a generalization on your part. All I did was to point out a verse from the Qur'an.

On the subject, however, the verse, and others, sadly, are the reasoning behind banners depicting and glorifying teen-age suicide bombers which decorate the streets of Palestinian neiborhoods.

That is truth, that is reality, and to deny it shows your fear.

According to Islam, "martyrdom" (Qur'an 9:111) is justified during "times of Jihad"; some Muslims believe they're in "times of Jihad", and other Muslims (the majority) don't.

Again, I was simply pointing to the "coincidence" of Qur'an 9:111 and 9-11-01.

Respectfully, Jennifer
