U.S. embassy complex in Iraq

Reader comment on item: "The Largest Embassy Ever Run by any Country"

Please tell me this is all a bad dream or a joke!

I don't know whether to cry or throw up. I'm sick to my stomach. Just read about the new US Embassy Complex we are building in Iraq and expect to be using by Sept. 2007. How could something like this happen with out citizens knowing about it or having a vote in the matter. What I've read is mind-boggling. Where will the millions/billions come from for all those employees and the Embassy buildings, etc. They talk in billions. There are far too many U.S. citizens, like myself, trying to survive on $10,000 or less a year!

Now you know why I'm sick to my stomach! Where are the billions of dollars coming from?

Don't we all know the answer to that question!!! Reductions in all the social services and health programs in the US? Less help for our war veterans as they return from whatever 'this is' that's going on over there?More poverty, more crime, more prisons in demand. General decay and moral chaos. Could a Depression be far behind? Why didn't Pres. Bush get some input from citizens before starting this? If it wasn't the Pres. then who?

Somebody, help me, please!. I don't understand what's happening in this situation which is a boondoggle to me! Yeah, that's a senior citizen word. I think it means a 'REAL _______ MESS"! Fill in the blanks with whatever word seems right to you! Is it too late to stop this from proceeding?
