Forewarning of What's to Come?
Reader comment on item: Turkey's Radical Turn?

Submitted by Ruth Lowry (United States), Aug 6, 2003 at 22:20

Dear Dr.Pipes,

In reading your enlightening article about the political situation inTurkey of late, I could not help but see a warning sign for America in this. The radical Islamists make no secret of their determination to Islamicize the entire world ... country by country, no matter how long this may take. They are cunning enough to keep up the farce of being "just some of the boys," until their feet are far enough in the doors of the targeted governments, to push those doors wide open and pour in with their version of how people MUST live.

Freedom loving people in every land must perk up and be alert for the least sign of a fanatical Islamist takeover. Such a monster has already been born in our own country, bidding its' time to grow in strength and numbers until ripe to make its' bid for complete control and conversion of America to their vicious brand of Islam. I cannot imagine them succeeding, but in their trying, many people will suffer, including those Muslims who have been born into freedom and cherish it as much as you and I. It will take courage and resolve to stand up to their fanatical "brothers" who have soaked their religion with the blood of their victims. Let us hope Turkey does not fall victim to their treacherous plan.
Sincerely, Ruth Lowry
