FRIEND OR FOE? The stakes are huge. Stay tuned.Reader comment on item: Turkey's Radical Turn? Submitted by GRAHAM RAEL-BROOK (United States), Aug 5, 2003 at 13:59 PERHAPS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT RESULTS OF THE WAR IN IRAQ WAS THE TURKISH GOVERNMENT 'TALKING TURKEY' AND DISCLOSING THEMSELVES, IF NOT THEIR COUNTRY, AS AN ENEMY OF THE WEST BY GOING BACK ON AN UNDERSTANDING REGARDING THEIR HELP IN THE WAR AGAINST THE IRAQI REGIME.THIS MIGHT HAVE BEEN PERILOUS TO THE COALITION FORCES. THANK G-D FOR THE KURDS WHO COULD HAVE EASILY FOUND JUSTIFICATION FOR WITHDRAWING THEIR SUPPORT IN THE LIGHT OF THEIR BEING ABANDONED BY THE US AFTER DESERT STORM.
