MAYBE AMERICAN MUSLIMS CAN HELP EUROPEAN MUSLIMS

Reader comment on item: Washington to Rescue Europe's Muslims?
in response to reader comment: Still trotting out the same old rubbish

The usually dysfunctional State Deparment of course expressed itself well by saying the situation in Europe was "fascinating" instead of alarming. That he was concerned about a "nativist surge" is astonishing. European Muslims by and large refuse to assimilate and gather their forces for the day when they are so numerous they can take control. But to what end? Will they be better off? Will there be welfare to continue to suuport them?

The job of Farah Pandith is to urge European Muslims to reconsider their separatist atttitudes and to become contributing members of European society. For all of them who emigrated from Muslim lands they are in a better place and can have a better future by becoming good European citizens while remaining believers in the one God Allah. To the extent it is of interest, she can discuss the great success of Muslim immigrants in America, including herself, by embracing the values of freedom, tolerance and individual self worth that America stands for. Can her message about well integrated and successful American Muslims give pause to theose Muslims seemingly intent on replicating Karachi, Cairo and Damascus in America in London or Paris? We don't know, but it's worth giving it a try.
