How will the recent elections impact Israel and the incendiary Middle East?

Reader comment on item: Impact of US elections in Mideast

Submitted by marion d s dreyfus (United States), Nov 13, 2006 at 03:02

A rare thing, but I disagree with Dr. Pipes in that such a failure as he characterizes in Iraq will impact not primarily the US, but will lower our resistance profile for decades to come throughout the democratic and authoritarian world. Should we accept the sectarian and religious mishmash that is extant there now, we will be adjudged the gang who could not and would not shoot
straight. By default, the blacker and bleaker forces will assume the mantle of more powerful forces that will have defeated the mighty US.
