Calling a Spade a ...shovelReader comment on item: Thoughts on Hamas' Ascendance Submitted by Taha Abdulla Baharoon (United Arab Emirates), Jan 31, 2006 at 02:13 Remarks by Helen Rauch-Elonekave, Jan 29, 2006 , refers.By rejecting the recent outragious Quartet conditions Hamas are actually ' Calling a Spade a ... Shovel'. They know for certain they have nothing to lose even if the whole world goes against them and they also know that any change will be for the better. They will stick to their guns until hell breaks loose. After surfing the internet for sometime, and after visiting few American websites, I know realise that Americans, despite their technological advancement, are living in a closed society. They know nothing of what is going on in the rest of the world and are being taken for a big ride by their own biased media. What you have in the US is 'Mediacracy' which has little to do with the real democracy. We are not yet fully democratic in this part of the world (Middle East) it is true but a man in our streets is by far more politically matured than an average American in the street of New York, that is for certain.
