in response to reader comment: Ukrainian Saga Nowhere Near Resolution Yet - Russian Losses Do Not Reflect Any Approach to Peace - Let Alone Victory

From impractical to tactical, what does anyone think is going to be the response if holding the Donbas is no longer practical and the potential of Ukrainian forces putting the Russians on the defensive in their own sovereign territory (not the Russian held Ukrainian Donbas (Russian infiltrated Luhansk or Donetsk), but Rostov-on-Don; or even backed into the Kriim?
This is the scenario that has/had the Russian perturbed for a really, really, long time and the idea that NATO has any practical means to curtail or curb those ambitions has got to be considered significantly provocative enough for any to realize this is not a drill to determine the resolve on a lmited basis.
The American military posture is not ready to address the more complicated aspects of what NATO is facing since the debacle that the 46th American Administrative Chief Executive let happen in Afghanistan. Diversionary influences are taking their toll and none can anticipate where the next challenge will arise.
Sending billions to the Ukraine did nothing but to incur a wrath of potential consequences too few really understand will be the result of not reading the situation correctly. It was not enough, not really...........
