UN report on China's Xinjiang province

Reader comment on item: Spelling Out Israel Victory
in response to reader comment: We need to help each other and expose the truth of Islam

Dear Dr Pipes,

According to the BBC a major UN report about Chinese treatment of its Muslim minority in China's Xinjiang province was released within the last few days. As expected, the report accuses China of different kinds of atrocities on her Muslim citizens.

When it comes to the mistreatment of separatist Muslims by the Chinese communists this is a fight between two Goliaths and there is no David here. To paraphrase a past Israeli PM, we should wish both sides best of luck in this fight. They should keep each other busy ad infinitum.

That said, I am disturbed by the UN. There is no separatist movement which does not get support from the United Nations. And, this support gets stronger if the separatist elements are Muslims. Has it ever occurred to the UN that not all wars for independence are created equal? If your goal is to separate from a secular country and create Muslim-only enclaves for yourself, perhaps your goals are nefarious and your war of independence is illegitimate.

I have very little respect for the UNO. That means that I oppose any financial transaction in which my money flows to the UNO. I thought I will let someone know who will eventually take the message to the UNO.
