Am I mistaken or is Dabashi the genius who pronounced, on the occasion of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's visit to Columbia University in 2009, that there are indeed no homosexuals in Iran, as homosexuality is entire a "Western construct?" It was either him or another one of the members of his "sorry gang of minions," or shall I say, brilliant superstars.

It was Ahmedinejad himself who said that. He meant by that not to deny homosexuality but that no Iranians identify themselves as homosexuals.
