When western institutions cancel Russian performers and sportspeople, they are right because these people fund Russian aggression through taxes, regardless of their views. Exceptions are being made for those who strongly condemn Putins aggression and atrocities, and hence do more good than harm. I don't think people are cancelled for supporting Putin unless they are Russian or Belorussian nationals.

Wrong. To take just one example, Anna Netrebko lives in Austria and has been an Austrian citizen since 2006.
