Christians Need Not Be Zionists to Support Israel's Return to Zion

Reader comment on item: [Christian Zionism:] Israel's Best Weapon?

It is written: Zion is the LORD's. That is all this Christian was able to take from Scripture, from the Tanakh. Even the New Testament references point to the Old Testament callouts of the LORD's witness and claim that Zion is His.
That Christians Zionists are called out as bedrock supporters of Israel may seem to provide a morale boost in the fight to keep Israel in good political stance and further the cause of Israeli sovereignty over the lands promised to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob; yet the Torah, and further into the Tanakh all point to the fact that the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob does not NEED Zionists in order to make His Word relevant and the promises come true as it relates to Jerusalem and Zion in the City of David.
Come on; seriously; we know that enemies of Zion will never come to grips with that, but believing disciples of Christ; where is your understanding of such things: does the LORD not say He will return to Zion?
Of course He does: it is written.
