"Correct Political Position on Israel is Critical for American Position in Middle East:"

Recap question from June 6, 2008 posting of Dr. Pipes:

[The remaining question is: that as charged as the Middle East situation is, with Iran's front agencies of Hizbollah and Hamas seething at the moment to forge ahead with the next incursion, and Israeli PM Olmert making it known he is not inclined to wait much longer on the Iranian's nuclear threat while other powers look anxiously on, will we even see the next American presidential election before we are engaged in the battle nobody except a few really wants?]

Folks, it is more than thirteen years since this was postulated and with the exception of the unfortunate circumstances of Sen McCain, many, if not most of the indicated players are still in the background, building upon the ancient antipathies against Israel as if somehow, reintroducing the failed policies of that time will break the resolve of the Iranian Islamic Regime's current desires and nuclear ambitions.
The current staff and leadership of the 46th American Administration, especially the Sec. of State, if not the oblivious leader, apparently, are blinded by political intrigue and are deluded still with the 'two-state-option' of appeasing a divided world that really could not understand what a world without an internationally protected Israel would be like, especially at their own jeopardy of a nuclear meltdown.
The interruption of the infection of intentional pestilence from the inscrutable East has shifted much focus towards what appears to be a greater threat, but the reality is that the true flashpoint remains illusive and evidently very few are truly going to be able to avert what is shaping up to be the inevitable outcome if they do not cease in trying to make Israel fit into a mold that will not stand the test of time. Like we indicated before, critical mass is nearly achieved and not one of the pretenders will be able to stop it; no one.
