Underlying Cause of Temple Mount Disparity

Among the more intriguing results of the Abrahamic Accords is the reported meeting between the UAE representative al-Khajah and Shas Rabbi Shalom Cohen, in which it appears that the Rabbi sends a message of apparent abstinence to worship at the Temple Mount, thereby allowing the times of the Gentiles to continue in defiance of the Scriptures;
We read in Yeremiah:

כִּי אַעֲלֶה אֲרֻכָה לָךְ וּמִמַּכֹּותַיִךְ אֶרְפָּאֵךְ נְאֻם־יְהוָה כִּי נִדָּחָה קָרְאוּ לָךְ צִיֹּון הִיא דֹּרֵשׁ אֵין לָֽהּ׃ ס

And yet, the Rabbi says not to seek the LORD on His Holy Mount? What's wrong with this, even as he is saying not to tempt the Holy One of Israel?
