Israel is the Country of Trumps Grandchildren from his Clost Daughter

Reader comment on item: The Solace of Poor U.S.-Israel Relations

Dear Dr. Daniel Pipes,

I hypothesize that your distaste for President Trump is due you Populist, "working-class,"; he is certainly not a Harvard man as you are. So I believe you could not appreciate his character or understand it. Trump Loves Israel and is a Philo-Semite (someone who loves Jews). Had he been born Jewish, instead of German-Scottish stock, he probably would have been accused of dual loyalties. So it is not inconceivable that Trump loves Jews and Israel even more than Netanyahu - of course this is a hyperbole, but an appropriate one.

Your fear that Trump would twist Netanyahu's arm is therefore unjustified; Israel is better (or more acurately) viewed as Trump's real-estate "holding" which he will pass on to his Jewish grandchildren through his beloved Orthodox Jewish daughter Ivanka. I am, of course, analyzing, Trump character, personality, psychology, etc.

In summary, I hope I have convinced you of how Pro-Israel Trump was and is; but your distaste for the way he talks or presents himself, I hypothesize, distracts you for giving him the credit that he's due on the Israel issue; I don't believe there is a single Israel-related issue to which you can object to, is there?

The worst enemies of Israel in the USA among Jews are the Liberal bleeding-hearts for Palestinians, as well as the top Lefty - Bernie!

The Danger to USA interests is that Israel will turn to India, Russia, and China. Israel is being pushed away from the USA by the failure to the Democrats to digest the implications of 9-11, the failed, Arab-Spring, the successful rise of the Muslim ISIS empire in Iraq-Syria, etc.

Looking forward to a great article by you after the "Dust Settles" from the late 11-Day War.

Daniel Pipes replies:

Trump is a Wharton graduate; my repugnance for him has nothing to do with his schooling and everything to do with his character.

I interpret his pro-Israel policies less as philosemitism, as you suggest, and more as benign antisemitism. On this, see http://www.danielpipes.org/2889/appendix-a-benign-antisemitism.
