Israel Probably Minor Concern For TrumpReader comment on item: Interview: I Expect Trump to Be Mildly Hostile to Israel Submitted by Dave, May 10, 2017 at 21:12 If the tenor of Trump's concerns as President are consistent with the things he emphasized during the campaign, and so far it looks that way, then Israel is probably fairly secondary. One can list his big items as cracking down on illegal immigration, criminal aliens and Muslim immigrants, defeating ISIS, a stronger military and replacing Obamacare. Also important were correcting trade deals perceived as unfair and making sure American workers are not stiffed by corporations looking for cheap foreign labor. The basic idea here is America First with the rest of the world being viewed with suspicion. An example of Trump's lack of interest in foreign affairs was obvious in the campaign when he was unable to identify several major Mideast names and organizations when quizzed, as well as in his ignorant, one-sided praise of Vladimir Putin, which is the real Russian scandal. As long as Israel doesn't do anything that would hurt the US, it's doubtful that Trump would much care. Instead, what happens with Israel will probably default to his entourage and the bureaucracy, which will likely be similar to Obama, except for some people like Sebastian Gorka and Nikki Haley to soften the edges.
