My apologies - the word already exists!

Reader comment on item: Nine Errors in Three Pages
in response to reader comment: Time to invent a new word: "alethophobia"

Submitted by Malcolm (Israel), Feb 2, 2017 at 11:02

I should have done a web search. "Alethophobia" already exists in exactly the meaning that I intended. Definition: 1. "A crippling fear of truth." 2. "The inability to accept unflattering facts about your nation, religion, culture, ethnic group, or yourself." Also the name of the novel published by Manoucher Parvin in 2007, which describes the phenomenon at a university. Mr. Pipes, in particular, has been targeted by alethophobia. In short, it is the word that we should all use, especially when unjustly accused of Islamophobia.
