HI, cynical Moh

I don't see any posts from you since Oct. 2016. Are you still circulationg? Did Trump's victory, etc. cause you to give up? Have you been abducted by aliens? I would like to hear from you -- there is very little sanity on the Internet nowadays (outside of Charles Krauthammer):

Did you ever watch the move "Dr Strangelove"? There is a scene where Dr. Fantástico (Peter Sellers) is struggling with his autonomous Nazi arm:

I think of Barack Obama as being something like that arm. One minute, you think he's finished, ready to pack his bags and go quietly. Then suddenly, he shoots forward and shouts "Heil Mich!" and the mainstream media fills its headlines with his latest inane McCarthyite raving.

Do you remember, when Big O was sworn in, eight years ago? He was going to "press the reset button" with Russia. I guess that meant he planned to re-start the Cold War. He also said he would "pivot to Asia" -- which, I suppose, meant that after making a complete mess of the Middle East (spilling over into Europe), he would go stir things up in the South China Sea. For his great maraschino cherry on top of the sundae, he has reversed our policy toward Israel...

As I say, this all looks to me something like Peter Sellers wrestling with his uncontrollable arm. I will be ever so greatful to my God, if we survive to the inauguration without Big O going completely nuts and pressing nuclear buttons around the White House.

We've had several days of "global warming" here lately, in which we haven't been able to get away from the house because our access road is too icy to drive on. We are hoping for the "warming" to abate enough by tomorrow morning, that my wife can get the car up the hill and get some groceries.

I miss your comments. Say something about anything. How is Sydney? I can't imagine the place, without my former Pome and Jock mates shouting rounds and singing in the pub. I don't suppose many Brits go there anymore. Nothing stays the same. The last time I was in the city I grew up in (in the US), I hardly recognized the place. Most of the main streets are the same; but the people I used to know have all moved out. I imagine Jackson Harbor is still there. Do ferries still ply it from Circular Quay? Do sailboats still tack at the last minute, to avoid hitting them? Are the humans in the city now slaves of giant flies, sticking on their backs and controlling them? One wonders...

I hope to hear from you soon. God bless and keep you.
