Question about citizenship in Europe

Here is a question about what does it take for a migrant coming into Europe to achieve citizenship in any particular European country: Do they have to apply for citizenship and subsequently pass a test and then take an oath to support and defend whatever is the equivalent of the Constitution of the United States?

Requirements vary a lot from country to country but in general there is no oath as there is in the USA.
