You should wonder where this title comes from, or where it leads.

Very often in Political Discourse, or in Propaganda, or Habara,
tactics turn on the mere scope of the meaning of one's terms.

Below is an article by a noted American Palestinian Literature "Scholar,"
who his the successor to the seat of Edward Said at Colombia University.
His argument, in the New York Times article of last month turns essentially
on the Scope of the concept of "Colonialism."
Foreign European Jews, according to him, "Colonized" Palestine.
Of course, the fact that Muslim Arabs did that "also" in the 19th century in particular
is conveniently omitted, as is the fact that half the number of totality of Jews
merely relocated to other parts of the Ottoman, or Muslim, empires
is also conveniently omitted.

To the extent that President-Elect Donald Trump
views Islam to be the source of Terrorism
in all its manifestations,
and that Israel is an important ally of the United States,
Rashid Khalidi's argument will not hold water.

Rashid Khalidi, a professor of Arab studies at Columbia
who was an adviser to the Palestinian delegation
during peace negotiations from 1991 to 1993,
is the author, most recently, of "Brokers of Deceit."
