Hi, Tovey. Here is some editorial comment on Obama's UN speech:

http://www.lifezette.com/polizette/obama-takes-u-s-final-u-n-address/

In other matters, I think I understand what you meant by "Please..." It's a variant of "Duh...", right? This is not to be confused with Homer Simpson's "Doh!" Please don't talk that way to me. I have trouble enough with Ronald Reagan English -- my dialect, which USED to be the standard. I don't know what the standard is now; but please try to be understanding of senior citizens like me. I do not have many years left; but I would like my final years to be filled with good conversation with the likes of you and others here.

Concerning the present post, you said,

"If one wonders why the current White House occupant wants a weaker America, it is so his vision of a properly directed globalization of the world is not hampered by a strong Constitutional America."

I agree: Obama has some sort of science-fiction view of America, replete with alien invasions. shooting down asteroids and controlling ocean levels. I don't know exactly how he views himself; but his view is 1. definitely not rational, and 2. the stuff or comic book heroes, rather than serious education.

INTERLUDE to Daniel Pipes: Daniel, you are a Harvard man, but amazingly rational in spite of it. What DO they teach in that Ivy League world? Are "Superman" and "Batman" required reading? END INTERLUDE.

In the midst of the madness in the UN, the White House and the Comic Book world, I turn to the Bible to see which way is up:

1. Yes, we are entering into an age of increasing collective action by the world terrorocracy called the UN; and they will attack Israel (cf. Zech. 14:2 -- "all nations" = the UN)

2. Concerning "the beast", there is no doubt that "he" is either the US, or a power that governs the US:

Rev. 13:
[4] And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?

The only country on earth to whom that pertains, is the US.

I expect many Christians and Jews to fall away because of this: To many of them, being "American" IS being Christian and Jewish; and patriotism is the zeroth commandment, above all others. Since the UN attack on Israel will happen in only a few years (I guess around eleven), and because many of my dear friends are blind patriots, this is very distressing to me.

The Bible does not predict a WEAK America. It says,

Rev. 17:
[12] And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.
[13] These have one mind, and SHALL GIVE THEIR POWER AND STRENGTH UNTO THE BEAST (i.e. the US)
[14] These SHALL MAKE WAR WITH THE LAMB, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

(This obviously speaks of the final battle, perhaps in 2023, NOT the "Gog" invasion of Israel that could happen as soon as 2017. It is "final", in the sense that it results in the arrival of Messiah and the first resurrection of the dead).

The "ten horns" are explicitly described, both in Revelation and in Daniel, as great "powers" or "kings" of the earth. Today, there are many consortiums of the great nations: The UN, the G20, the G7 and G8, the TPP and TTIP, NATO, the WTO and more. In all these, the United States of America is THE key player. Of all these, only NATO, augmented by key US allies, is capable of concerted military action. We can therefore identify the "ten" from a roster of those who participated in the war in Afghanistan:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coalition_casualties_in_Afghanistan

1. the UK 2. Canada 3 France 4. Germany 5. Italy 6. Poland 7. Denmark 8. Australia 9. Spain 10. Georgia 11. Netherlands 12. Romania 13. Turkey 14. Chechia 15. New Zealand 16. Norway 17. Estonia 18. Hungary 19. Sweden

That's a list that reflects how well the armies of the world are able to work TOGETHER. For a measure of international clout, one might draw from the G20:

1. Australia 2. Canada 3. Saudi Arabia 4. France 5. Germany 6. Italy 7. the UK 8. Argentina 9. Brazil 10. Mexico 12. China 13. Indonesia 14. Japan 15. S Korea 16. India 17. Russia 18. S Africa 19. Turkey. The EU is also including, representing its 28 members.

Those on both lists include (besides the US):

1. the UK 2. Canada 3.France 4. Germany 5. Italy 6. Australia 7-10. (represented by the EU): Poland, Denmark, Spain, Netherlands.

Turkey is also on both lists, but I expect them to be toast in a few years. That's essentially "The Ten". It's a club that changes a bit, from year to year; but this last list will suffice to describe the make-up of the countries that will "lead the charge" against Israel.

I think you can readily see my logic, Tovey; but others here might look upon this with wonderment and dismiss me as a kook. Kook or no, this is what the Bible says.

Shalom shalom :-)
