That's a rather twisted view of history. Islam was founded upon conquest; Christianity was founded upon being persecuted. There is no comparison in that regard. As for the Crusades, they were deemed necessary because the newly arrived Seljuk Turks had begun waylaying Christian pilgriims to Jerusalem.
