Tear Gas Shipment

Reader comment on item: 140,000 Canisters of U.S. Teargas to Egypt's Morsi

Submitted by Gunther H. Sciff (United States), Apr 14, 2013 at 17:14

While the number of canisters shipped is in doubt; there is little choice that police departments have in controlling destructive or threatening crowds. While I wish the Egyptians had purchased the gas elsewhere, they had to purchase it somewhere, so its origin is not of practical consequence. Tear gas is often used instead of more deadly responses. There is much to object to in the manner that the US Gov't is dealing with Egypt. This is not a reasonable critique of the US action.

Fascinating absence of any sense of morality on your part.
