The difference is that under Kemal alone within just six years the Jewish community in Turkey shrank from to 200 000 to 81 000 ( 40% !) which was followed by a Turkish version of the Kristallnacht Pogrom of 1934 in Eastern Thrace and then continued by imposing a ruining income tax on the Jews, voting against the creation of the state of Israel in 1947, pogroms of 1955 and more which I once mentioned in a post. What can the bad Islamists boast of compared to such a great Kemalist record? An incident off the coast of Gaza, a few altercations on TV and paranoic ideas such identifying a bee-eater as an Israeli spy ?
