M. Tovey: There is nothing about lavish spending that is fundamental or a necessary part of the American Way of Life. I imagine it is the least of things that Divine providence would smile on. I also recommended a central authority to oversee the voting process, hardly something that Divine providence would frown on. If you must bring God into it, try listening to what S/He really really wants for us all, not just Americans.
