You seem to be proving my point that political elite and commentators have been consistently wrong about Middle East since 1979.

Really? so were their opinions right before 1979?

Your analysis of the situation has no basis in facts (you seem to have a deep understanding of Tantawi's thinking just through the magic of Television)

And your understanding is any better. Hello: you are posting from the US right? so how do you get your information you tell us

and you dismissal of Morsi's intentions or political calculations are childish.

Morsi is clueless and an embarrassment he and al-ikhwan al-muslimeen highjacked the revolution from the secularists

The point is that US supports dictators (blinded by their unpopular support for US/Israel)

Oh not again the usual suspects el-yahood wa el-CIA you are not even original

and when they are overthrown, we are suddenly surprised

And they were over thrown by not fascist-Islamis but be secularists

Now: Am I surprised? I'm surprised that it too so long to get rid of Mubarak and his gang

when their replacements are not friendly toward the US.

Oh al-Akhwan al-Muasleen wa al-salafiyeen they are not the friends of the US they are clueless

Egypt is lost (as you can see by Morsi's trip to China and Iran)

Oh so Morsi is visiting kuffar in China and the enemies of Sunni Islam in Iran! what a hypocrite

and the rest of the Gulf states will be lost as well.

And?

Finally, hypocrisy exercised by US and European political elite is heard and experienced in these countries.

And?

People of Egypt ask where were these champions of human rights and freedom of the press when Mubarak was jailing political activists.

Let me help you: Egyptians were the only ones that could have helped themselves and they did. el-Ikhwan el-muslimeen and el-salafiyeen? they were against the revolution or did you forget?

But you tell us where was your Allah during the Mubarak era? Where was Allah when he was needed? Oh no place to be found. So it seems that your Allah was on the side on Mubarak for 30 long years right?

Let's face it; significant number of people of Middle East are religious

Did you read Hourani's Liberal Age? you need to do that and if Egypt can have the likes of Shiekh al-Tahtawi and Sheikh Mohamed Abdo then this can happen again but what Egypt is stuck with now is the likes of the disaster called هيءة الامر بالمعروف والنهي عن المنكر which could very well change Egypt into another Iran or even worse Saudi Arabia and their religious thugs so is this what the poeple of Egypt want?

Egypt will never be a democarcy as long as there is political Islam

and given the freedom to vote,

And?

they would vote for Islamist parties because the secular groups have been nothing but lap dogs for US and Israel.

Really? Oh the usual suspect again el-yahood wa el-CIA right?

Shame on you for saying that

You do not like them because they were telling Egypt and Egyptians that the only way forward for Egypt is through al-3ilmaniyya as it is very obvious that neither the clueles Morsi or the crazy el-salafiyeen have a direct phone line with Allah

Egypt should have a secular constitution where every one, women, men, Christian Copts, Muslim Copts, Shi3a, Sufis, atheists and all are really equal and Egypt should not have an official religion after all the sacred and the profane should be separate unless the clueless Morsi can show the world that he has a direct phone line with Allah which he does not

As for language Egyptians speak the language of Adel Imam and Naguib el-Rihani and Ismeal Yaseen it is their language and it is Egyptian Arabic and not this bogus Quranic Arabic and I'm sure if you were watching Egypt TV! you would have noticed that many wannabe Arabs in Egypt now tell us that the perfect Egyptian Arabic word كحك should be the bogus Arabic word كعك I call this self hate only brought to Egypt by the imperialism of the Arabs

The official language of Egypt should be Egyptian Arabic el-lugha el-3amiyya

But again we are dealing with the retarded el-ikhwan el-muslimeen and el-salafiyeen

We should accept this fact that we will not like people's choices in this part of the world (at least for many years to come) and this is the price we pay for supporting dictators and not finding a solution to the cause of Palestinians.
