Being a little closer to someone who is helping your enemies annihilate you?

Reader comment on item: Russia, China & Israel against Islamism?

Submitted by Mladen Andrijasevic (Israel), Jul 3, 2012 at 12:11

To me these two sentences do not make any sense:

"Regretfully, Russia's best friends in the region are the rogue states of Iran and Syria. Yet, the shared concern regarding the advent of the Muslim Brotherhood and its welcoming by the United States, bring Russia and Israel a little closer."

Isn't this "a litter closer" measured in units a few orders of magnitude less than units to quantify Russia being friends with Iran which seeks Israel's annihilation?
