Reader comment on item: Gaddafi's Fin de Régime

Submitted by Rebecca Moulds (United States), Feb 24, 2011 at 16:54

I used to think that Muammar Ghaddafi was just an eccentric, but then as the years rolled by, I realised he was a truly a megalomaniac by anyone's standards--hence my refusal to move to Tripoli in 1995, when the oil company my husband worked for decided that Libya would be our next posting----and my relief when the US State Dept. would not allow non-government citizens to even step foot in that country.

Today, thousands of people crossed the border into Tunisia to escape the mayhem and murder in Libya. How sad to have to leave one's country because an evil regime and doubly-evil leader have corrupted it to the point of destruction. Let's all hope and pray that this leader is taken into account for his part in ruining his country. He said he wants to die a "martyr "; however, the people may not allow him that privilege.
