I really appreciate Tim Hunter's remarks and would like to read everything he writes on the subject. I too am an Army reservist. My experience of Saudi Arabia was that they embraced me "warmly". I did everything possible to endear themselves to the and my family. They certainly are skilled at seduction. (I am also an Army reservist… Retiring with the rank of Lieut. Col.. Thus I can appreciate your interaction and Army experience helping to give you a basis for understanding both the Saudis and US diplomatic corps.)
