Reader comment on item: Moshe Ya'alon's "Harsh" and "Heartless" Comment about the Palestinians

Submitted by Edna (United States), Aug 11, 2009 at 21:21

I sent a friend this blog. Here are his questions:

"Isn't the charge (and belief) that the Palestinians are a defeated people, however true, incendiary, at worst; taunting, at best? And to what purpose? Doesn't this give rise to even more of the underdog mentality to the Palestinians, as if to say, 'See, we have to fight harder, longer, and more intensely?'

Well worth asking. Any comments from Dr,. Pipes or others?

Daniel Pipes replies:

Read up on what victory and defeat mean, then you won't need to ask me such questions.
