Reader comment on item: Failed Attempts at Mega-Terrorism

Submitted by Joe Six-Pack (United States), Mar 31, 2009 at 12:54

I can't see this war becoming small as time goes on, unless we wage offensive warfare. We need to force our enemies to attack our military. To do otherwise is to allow our enemies to launch much more effective attacks. As these articles demonstrate, the civilian authorities can do well, but they do not have the resources to actually reverse the tide in the war.

The civilian authorities can play good defense, but they will not be able to put an end to the armed conflict. With WMD an increasing probability, time is NOT on our side.
