Reader comment on item: [Samuel Huntington and] American Purposes In Iraq

Submitted by Marty Ekrem (United States), Apr 27, 2004 at 13:07

Dear Daniel,
Just a quick note to tell you how much I enjoy your work and critical thinking. I find that my thinking is much in line with yours. While I would like other nations and peoples to enjoy my values, rewards and freedoms, I most want to protect those qualities for me and my future generations in America. Keep my America what it has traditionally meant to be an American...freedom, worth of the individual, free enterprise, reward for risk taking, freedom of speech, right to bear arms, Judeo/Christian values, the rule of law and I'm happy. If other nations can have that, also, that's great. But don't risk me losing that in America because we're trying to push those values on other nations.

Protect my family's security, first. Protect my America, first. Thanks for your insightful voice.
