Very Good Point!

Reader comment on item: Slave-Holding Muslim Immigrants in the West
in response to reader comment: Muslims are not evil.

I agree. The media, especially here, will spin a title to condition people subconsciously. The objective is for most people out here to have negative feelings towards Muslims. This is so sad. It is sad that in America it is so important to have the US against them mindset. They are BAD. They are NOT LIKE US.

WE ARE SUPERIOR. Our beliefs and our practices are supreme.

Also, many people automatically think of the atrocious inhumane treatment caucasians used on Black slaves when they hear the word slavery. When we hear of cases like this article (Shyima), the word slavery is inappropriate. Maybe indentured servitude would be a better term. But you get the point. Slavery brings a horrible thought to mind. This girl (as far as we know, was not beaten, starved, sexually abused, or forced to dismiss her culture...which was the comon practice of White men, when they owned slaves.) So the term slavery and pairing it with Muslims, is indeed a tactic I think done for damaging reasons.

Good Call to attention!
