Once again, the term "moderate" is bandied about with regard to Islam, and yet again it is misapplied. Being Muslim is not a matter of being "moderate" - either you are or you are not.

Indeed there are those who lead a "non-islamic" lifestyle and then become - for varying reasons- devout. And indeed there is nothing wrong or "concerning" with that. In fact among the enumerous that become suddenly devout, very few of them turn to violence. The cases put forth by Mr. Pipes are clearly overexaggeration used to somehow (and poorly) to confirm an inept theory...
