Reader comment on item: Arab-Israeli Fatalities Rank 49th

Submitted by Vijay (United Kingdom), Oct 9, 2007 at 17:11

What if the 'Arab-Israeli conflict' is forgotten by the world for 30 years.

Then

a. UN will have billions of $$$ to spend on other things instead of looking after Palestinians.

b.Palestinians will be made to rely on themselves for their economic and political progress

c. All the leftists in the world will have their central plank of hate (i.e. Israel) removed . They would not know what to do with their lives

d. All brands of Islamists , from Al-Qaueda to 'modertae' legal Islamists would not know what to do with their lives. But, I guess they will be more adaptible than leftists in finding new objects of hatred.

e. Arab countries will lose their biggest bogeyman which keeps their regimes in dictatorial power. They might become more democratic.

f. Iran will stop making nuclear bombs out of their own accord and spend the money on something useful.
