1. You said that "...shrill charges of racism and appalling comparisons to Nazi Germany impede the U.S. government's efforts to protect Americans." Right. And that's exactly WHY those charges and comparisons were made in the first place. After all, we are very much in a war, both at home and abroad, and our enemies are numerous in both places.

2. There's a news item I just saw that Pres. Bush is going to appoint you to that govt panel during the recess, over the confused/anti-American objections of the Democrats. Congratulations! This is the best news I've heard all day. Thank you, Dr. Pipes, and please keep up the great work!
